PRICE REDUCED to $500.00 9-28-09. If your reading this then you already know that Weil McLain makes the very best boilers out there for residential hot water heating. You also know these units do not come cheap by any means. Below is some information I have about this boiler:
This unit was used for 1 year (1 heating season) in a farm house that was purchased to be torn down. I knew the boiler was just installed the previous year and I purchased it to use in my wood shop once I had my shop set up. Due to the economy and my job I have relocated and I have had this boiler in storage for several years. Another words…. I no longer need this unit and I need to sell it.
This unit is made by the WEIL-McLAIN Co. It is a model SGO Series 3 OIL FIRED (fuel oil) Natural draft boiler. It will make steam or hot water depending on how you set this unit up. This unit is COMPLETE with boiler, electronics, oil burner and I do have the manuals and draft piping. This unit is small in size but it is HEAVY because the inner works is cast iron, you WILL need help loading this unit. I loaded it by myself but a extra set of hands would have been of great help to me when loading.
I paid less than 2/3 of what this unit cost new at seven hundred dollars. My selling price is $600.00 firm. I am in no hurry to sell this, I just need it out of my way. Do your research and you will find this is a steal of a deal if your in need of a boiler for you house or your doing a alternate heat source for a shop or BIO fuel set up. Everything is there except you will need a thermostat for your wall to kick the furnace on with. You are more than welcome to have a heating contractor inspect this unit “before you buy it”. The most common item that gets replaced on a boiler is the lining in the fire box, the lining in my judgment still looks great.
